JAZZ IS BACK
IN OLD SAC!

The A.P.EX Group in conjunction with SACRAMENTO DISTRICT 4 are proud to announce that "Jazz is back in Old Sac" with the 1st Annual CAPITAL CITY JAZZ FESTIVAL!

This all-day, family friendly event will take place on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Old Sacramento State Historic Park in the heart of Old Sacramento -  111 I Street / Sacramento, CA 95814.

This event is FREE to the public and will feature local and international jazz artists live  on stage. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs and good vibes!

There will be food trucks, vendors and a Beer & Wine Garden for the adults.

HEADLINER JEFF RYAN

Jeff Ryan is one the most essential young voices in contemporary jazz today. From his uniquely relatable emotive tone to his explosive performance and stage presence, it's no question why he is a staple across the country in the jazz festival scene.

AGAPESOUL

AgapéSoul is the brainchild of bassist, songwriter, and producer Darryl Anders. His resume includes playing with the legendary Tower of Power, and recording and preforming with Meters drummer Zigaboo Modeliste.

NAGUAL

Nagual is a Sacramento, California based group that features saxophonist Scott Anderson, guitarist Victor Contreras, bassist Paul Relvas, congero Harold Muñiz, and drummer Ron Ochoa.

HARLEY WHITE JR. QUARTET

Since 1991, Harley White Jr. has been a prominent figure on the Sacramento music scene in a wide array of roles from pop recording artist with “Papa’s Culture”, as a creative force with “Blackalicious”, “Original Heads” and “Dr. Echo”.

Where is the best place to park? 

There is a parking lot in Old Sacramento located on Firehouse Alley right off L Street (parking fees may vary). There is also plenty of street parking on Front Street, K Street and L Street (parking fees may vary). There is also a parking structure right off Front Street (parking fees may vary).  
Ride Sharing services (like Uber or Lyft) are recommended for easy drop-off and/or pickup.

Will there be vendors there? 

Yes. There will be plenty of food and non-food vendors onsite for this historic event. There will also be a Beer & Wine Garden for the adults.

What should I bring to the park? 

First, Bring a festive spirit! You should also bring lawn chairs and a small umbrella for sun protection. Pop-up tents are allowed along the perimeter of the park so it does not obstruct the view others. Sunscreen & hats are strongly recommended. Coolers with non-alcoholic beverages are allowed as well.
